Building Intrusion - Friday, March 13th

Published March 18, 2026

Dear Press Residents,

We had an intrusion into the building this past Friday through the Press 1 lobby doors around 11:30am. Unfortunately, this led to several packages being stolen from the Press 1 mailroom. Below is a camera shot of the individual.

After reviewing the cameras and entry logs, the intruder gained access to the building by tailgating behind a delivery driver dropping off items at the building.

The means of entry for this incident are unique in that it does not involve a structural weakness with the building, nor an individual pushing or talking their way past a resident. By the way, the community is excellent at not allowing this to happen, or if it does, reporting intrusions when the situation is a forced building entry.

I will be reaching out to the delivery company leadership to review the incident together and look to create a “site notes” instruction for the drivers delivering to Press. It does present a challenge with the volume and churn of drivers, but I also want to point out change is possible. For example, with the addition of a shelving unit to store packages out of sight, a window screen on the door to limit visibility from the street during the day, and support from a resident utilizing connections to instruct delivery personnel not to drop items where visible, package theft has significantly decreased in Press 2.

Please reach out to me if you have any suggestions or ideas about developing a protocol for this scenario.

Sincerely,

Pablo
